Almost every one of us must have tried our hands in the kitchen, at some time. Those, who like to add some variety to their meals, must have experimented with the recipes they might have collected from different places. I am a kind of a person who loves to eat and therefore I prefer to cook for myself. It might be the reason that though I am not professional chef, I am no less than that.
Perhaps that is why I never miss any episode of the reality TV show ‘Hell’s Kitchen’, as it is based on cooking competitions. Also, since it fulfills my curiosity to know more about cooking, season 5 of this series which concluded on 14 May 2009, added more culinary information to my kitty. It is a great relief that the show will be returning in July this year with its sixth season which will be premiered on 21 July 2009. I am really excited about the return of the show and am waiting for its premiere eagerly.
Contestant Danny Veltri, who won the season 5, earned the position of the head chef of the brand-new restaurant within the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, in Atlantic City. Danny must really feel enthralled about the new job which will enable him to earn an annual salary of $250,000. I am sure he must also be thankful for the experience he gained as an executive chef at the Flip Flops Grill & Chill in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He has also earned the $250,000 prize money as a part of his victory.
In the season finale episode, I was quite amused by the way Gordon Ramsay teased the two finalists, Danny and Paula, while announcing, ‘The winner of Hell’s Kitchen…lives in Florida’. It was amusing since both of them come from Florida. Ramsay later stated that the reason behind the victory of Danny was his hard work.
According to Ramsay, ‘Danny won Hell’s Kitchen because in a very short period of time, he grew more than any other chef I’ve ever seen. He now has the talent, the maturity, to become a great head chef. Borgata Resort should consider themselves lucky. I know I would.”
